Gloria Martinez
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Gloria Martinez, who peacefully entered eternal rest on June 20, 2026, at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of her family at home. The place she wished to be.
Gloria was born in Laredo, Texas, to the late Federico Martinez and Aurora Arizola Martinez. Throughout her life, she was known for her strength, resilience, kindness, and unconditional love. She dedicated herself to her family and was the heart of every gathering, always welcoming others with a warm smile, a caring spirit, and an open heart.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Jessica M. Herrera (Cesar Herrera), Jennifer J. Sanchez (Raul Sanchez), and Jo Anne Martinez (Santos Sanchez). Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren: Mia Herrera, Bianca Herrera, Cesar Herrera Jr., Isaac Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Noah Sanchez, and Diana Sanchez. Each of them held a special place in her heart and brought her immeasurable happiness.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Federico Martinez and Aurora Arizola Martinez, and her beloved sisters, Elsa Roycroft and Estela Cantu.
Family was everything to Gloria. She taught those around her the importance of love, loyalty, faith, and perseverance. Her strength carried her through life’s challenges, and her compassion touched countless lives. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel loved, valued, and welcomed, and her presence brought comfort to all who knew her.
While our hearts are broken by her loss, we find peace in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now reunited with her loved ones who went before her. Her legacy of love, devotion, and strength will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
La Señora Elegante will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever remembered.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
