James C. Headtke

James  C. Headtke (Jim), 67 passed away on Sunday December 17th, 2023 at Sherman hospital surrounded by loved ones. Jim was born on January 13th, 1956 in Chicago Illinois to the late Eugene and Francis Headtke. He was the 3rd born of 8 children. Jim was a resident of Carpentersville, IL since 1965, when his family moved from Oak Lawn. Jim served in the US Navy as part of the Color Guard before being assigned as a boiler technician on the U.S.S. Oriskany. After Jim’s time in the service, he came home to Carpentersville where he lived until his death with his wife Debbie (Reynolds). Who he married in 1985. Jim was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, and friend. He enjoyed playing cards and watching his beloved Chicago Bears Football. He loved being the joker of the group, constantly making “gestures” in any picture he was in. Jim’s favorite greeting was, “Hey Cus!” and “Hey man what’s up?” Jim is proceeded in death by his mother (Francis Headtke), father (Eugene Headtke), two brothers (Eugene and David Headtke), daughter (Melissa Broker), and granddaughter (Savannah Boone). Jim is survived by his wife Debbie Headtke, children Candice Paulus (Dan), Cody Headtke (Erika), Samantha Headtke (Anthony), and 6 grandchildren. His siblings Karen Headtke Vrba (Rich), John Headtke, Mary Headtke, Patrick Headtke Sr. (Traci), and Regina Headtke. 11 nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews. As well as numerous friends and relatives. Jim will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. Visitation for Jim will be Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 4pm to 9pm at Dundee Funeral Home, 525 Dundee Ave. Carpentersville, IL (Across from Dundee Township Cemetery on rt 25 and rt 72). Funeral Services Wednesday 11am. at the funeral home. Interment Dundee Township Cemetery East 12:00 noon.
