In Loving Memory of

Maria Del Rosario Gonzalez Ortiz

Lovingly Known as “Chayito”

October 14, 1975 – October 10, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Maria Del Rosario Gonzalez Ortiz, affectionately known as “Chayito,” on October 10, 2026, at the age of 50, just four days before her 51st birthday.

Born on October 14, 1975, in Valparaíso, Zacatecas, Mexico, Chayito moved to the United States in 1992, where she built a life centered around family, faith, love, and hard work.

Chayito was a cherished daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. Beautiful inside and out, she was known for her radiant smile, contagious laughter, colorful personality, and generous heart. She had a remarkable way of making friends wherever she went and making everyone around her feel welcomed and loved. She was affectionate, full of life, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

Above all, Chayito was a devoted mother to her five children, Andres Cabral, Angelica Beleno, Heligio Cabral, Luis Cabral, and Melissa Cabral, and a loving grandmother to her seven grandchildren. Her children were her greatest treasures, whom she lovingly called “mis tesoros.” As a single mother, she raised them with strength, dedication, sacrifice, and unconditional love. She was fiercely protective of her children, always doing everything she could to care for them, guide them, and keep them safe. She taught them the importance of family, hard work, generosity, and always staying together. Her greatest happiness came from having all her children gathered around her, enjoying a home-cooked meal, sharing stories, laughing, and simply being together.

She loved music, dancing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Her children especially loved her pozole, while her grandchildren adored her sopita. Her home was a place filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Chayito also loved capturing life’s moments through photographs. She was always taking pictures of everyone and everything, making sure that even the simplest gatherings became lasting memories. If you spent time with Chayito, chances are she captured a picture of you. Today, those photographs are beautiful reminders of the moments, laughter, and love she shared with so many.

Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life. She was an active member of Santa Monica Catholic Church, where she participated in the Cursillo group, the Legion of Mary, and the Pastoral de Salud health ministry. She generously volunteered her time, finding joy and purpose in serving others and her community.

Chayito lived a life filled with love, faith, generosity, and unforgettable moments. She touched countless hearts through her kindness, laughter, and genuine love for others.

Although her passing came far too soon, her legacy lives on through her five children, seven grandchildren, and the many family members and friends who were blessed to know her. The values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on for generations.

She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

Until we meet again, our beautiful Chayito.

En Amorosa Memoria de

Maria Del Rosario Gonzalez Ortiz
