Penny Mensik

Penny Lee Mensik, a long-time resident of West Dundee, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born March 14, 1944, to Charles and Sybil Vanderford, Penny taught voice lessons and coached both church and barbershop choirs. She was a member of Sweet Adelines International and Tenor in Weekend Edition championship barbershop quartet. She also loved gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving is her husband, Charles Mensik; daughter, Pamela Hutton; daughter, Rebecca (Reza) Adhitiya; son, Steven Mensik; grandchildren, Timothy Teran, Madeline Perez, Jessica Teran, Katherine Perez and Olivia Perez; great-grandchildren; and one brother. She was proceeded in death by her daughter, Julie Mensik; her grandson, Andrew Mensik; her parents; and 3 siblings. A private family burial service to be held in her honor.
