In Loving Memory of Roque Granados Aguilera
August 4, 1986 – May 17, 2025
Born in San Jose de Los Pinos, Guanajuato, Mexico
Resided in Elgin, Illinois
With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Roque Granados
Aguilera on May 17, 2025. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Roque left
behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and love for his community.
Roque was born in San Jose de Los Pinos, Guanajuato, Mexico, and later made his home in
Elgin, Illinois. He was known and loved by many through his work at Taylor Street Pizza, a local
pizzeria located in Carpentersville, Illinois, where he dedicated his time, passion, and culinary
creativity. Roque was more than just a pizza maker, as many know, he loved music and enjoyed
playing it, always bringing happiness to those around him. He was an artist, a neighbor, and a
friend who gave with humility and warmth.
Roque is survived by his paternal grandmother, Leonor Garcia Delgado; his loving parents,
Gabriel Granados Garcia and Maria de los Angeles Aguilera Escobar; and his dear siblings:
Hugo Granados Aguilera, Misael Granados Aguilera, Adolfo Granados Aguilera, Moncerrat
Granados Aguilera, and Victoria Granados Aguilera. His memory will also live on through his
many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom were touched by his joyful spirit and
generous heart.
Roque was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Evaristo Granados; his maternal
grandfather, Alfonso Blancarte; and his maternal grandmother, Lidia Escobar. Their love and
guidance helped shape the man he was, and it comforts us to know they are now reunited.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that God had different plans for him
— and we firmly believe this is not goodbye, but we’ll see you soon.
Services in memory of Roque will be held this Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Dundee Funeral Home
& Crematory, located at:
Dundee Funeral Home & Crematory
485 Dundee Avenue, East Dundee, IL 60118
