Sean Michael Stanko

Sean Michael Stanko, 29 passed away in Elgin January 22, 2021.  Born in Elgin July 25, 1991. Beloved son of Michael Stanko and Jennifer Karels (nee Short); loving brother of Sky Karels; caring grandson of Joanne (the late Jim) Stanko; fond nephew of Jessica (the late Frank) Somenek Stanko and Vickie (John) Pierce; loving cousin of Cody Stanko and second cousin Megan Pierce, and Andrew Pierce; and godson of Maryann Becker.  Sean is preceded in death by his uncle Mathew Short, and grandparents Mary and Charles Short; great grandparents Elsie (James) Smith, Patricia Short, James and Mary Stanko and Mario and Mary Brajkovich.  Sean was greatly loved by family and friends, he had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Sean had a good sense of humor and a silly side his friends and family enjoyed. As a child Sean was full of life, and had a radiant smile.
